PurpleStride Orlando 2011, Join Me!

Yes the statistics are not promising, but I am here to tell you that with research and awareness they can be!

My father (Mr. Wizard) has been battling this disease on and off for over 5 years now! We have been on one wild roller coaster ride and while it may be easier to “forget” what is happening to us it makes us stronger fighting for what we believe in!

Pancreatic Cancer is one of the most underfunded cancers today, we need to change this! We need to have more Wizard’s living past a few months and allow them to share life long lessons with their loved ones that will never be “forgotten”!

Over the past five years my father has taught me life lessons that I will carry with me and hopefully pass down to my own children.

The most important lesson he has taught me is to never give up!

Imagine a man battling this disease, in and out of the hospital for several months, losing weight, not being able to tolerate pain meds and yet on that one glorious day where the Lord seems to be shining his light on him the man takes all of his energy and plays a round of golf, 18 holes, and shoots on average a 77! That man is my father and because of him I will constantly look forward to those good days. :)

Did you know an estimated 43,140 Americans were diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2010 and 36,800 will pass away from the disease?

We need to change these statistics. Join me in support of Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s effort to advance research, support patients and create hope. Visit www.pancan.org to learn more about the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Together, I believe we can make a difference.
